First Impressions

There is no denying that first impressions are extremely important in almost every aspect of our life. Curb appeal of a property can make or break a deal. When a property looks well maintained with attractive visual elements, potential buyers are much more interested in making the extra effort to view the house.

The pandemic has increased our appreciation and importance of the outdoors, particularly here in Southern California. Our gardens are an extension of our living spaces. There has been a rise in homeowners enhancing outdoor features by investing in outdoor kitchens, swimming pools, fire pits and in some cases movie screens. Although all of these additions bring a great deal of joy and improved lifestyle, not all of them add as much additional $ value when the property is placed on the market as we may think.  Ranked among the most important cost effective improvements are very basic, such as standard lawn care, tree  trimming and the maintenance and aesthetes of the general landscaping.

As with all improvements you wish to make prior to listing your home, consult your realtor. Your realtor has direct first hand knowledge of what is trending in the market and what is bringing the highest value to their clients.
